Clinical Background
Romy qualified in 2001 and began her career in Sussex. Having completed all core areas of physiotherapy in an NHS setting she progressed to senior level and specialised in Pelvic Health, where she has remained since January 2003. From 2007-2014 she worked as Clinical Team Lead for the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy Team at Worthing Hospital.
Specialist Qualifications
As well as developing her role within the NHS and private setting, in 2007 she completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Continence for Physiotherapists at Masters level, thereby gaining her full membership of Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP). Romy has also recently become a Menopause Movement Foundation Practitioner.
From 2016-2022 Romy lived and worked in New Zealand, gaining invaluable and diverse experience within the field of Pelvic Health. She was part of a multi-disciplinary urogynaecological team within a private clinic in Auckland, whilst also managing the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy service in the adjacent Birthing Centre. Additionally, she worked for the inpatient and outpatient departments of a hugely diverse southern Auckland public hospital.
Lecturing
Since 2022 Romy has returned to the NHS at a specialist practice level. In 2024 she became a Professional Tutor at national and international course level for the POGP. She very much enjoys teaching clinicians at the beginning of their pelvic health journey, several times a year. She continues to grow and expand her portfolio of clinical experience through courses and various forms of professional development.
Services
Her services include the assessment and treatment of bladder and bowel problems, pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse, incontinence, sexual dysfunction, menopause, pre and post gynaecological operative care, pregnancy-related musculoskeletal problems, both ante and post-natal.
Romy sees women, men, trans & nonbinary clients. She is very excited to join the team at Four* and cultivate the clinic with all things pelvic health.
Outside of Physio
She lives locally with her family & dog. Any spare time not ferrying children around or dog duties is valuably spent doing yoga, sea swimming, running and resting!
